How hire charges work?
Most hire rates are quoted at the weekly rate plus VAT, Our first day is a full 24 hours, from the time the equipment is received/signed for. The one day rate is three fifths (0.6) of the weekly rate, an extra day being one fifth (0.2) of the weekly rate, with the weekly rate applying from the third day. After one week the extra days are charged in fifths of the weekly rate up to 5 days with the remaining 2 days (6th and 7th day) included. Certain low cost items e.g. acrow props are charged at a weeks minimum rate. We offer four week and long term rates on our equipment but these must be agreed to and signed for at the time of hiring.

Weekend rates?
We offer a weekend special where you can hire from 4:00pm on a Friday and off hire by 10:00am Monday and we only charge one day (you get equipment for nearly three days for a one day charge). Does not apply to powered access, excavators or powered dumper equipment

Why plus VAT?
All prices quoted on our website are exclusive of VAT. Most of our business is the tradesmen or commercial customers who require a 'plus' vat invoice.

Charges for consumables?
All our consumables taken with hired equipment are offered on sale or return basis e.g. if you have not used a safety kit you will be credited at the time of off hiring as long as it is returned in a resalable, as new, condition.

How do I reserve equipment?
Simply phone us on 01732 357777 or email us. A reservation by email is not valid until we have confirmed it.

How do I pay?
Credit card, Debit Card or Cash (American Express on Purchases only, not as a deposit)

How do I open a business account?
A good proportion of our business is on account and we welcome new trade accounts. Simply download the online account form and send it to us , we require a completed and signed account form before the account can be opened. subject to satisfactory credit references. (Please Note Credit Accounts also are only opened with at least a 3 month previous hiring history)

Delivery and collection.
Our hire centre has excellent free parking however certain equipment will need delivering. We have a fleet of vehicles to ensure prompt delivery. Kentec Tool Hire has always tried to keep delivery charges to a minimum. Please enquire about delivery rates when ordering equipment.

How do I off hire equipment?
If not returning the equipment yourself, hire charges will stop when you phone/email to arrange the off hire and collection and receive a confirmation reference of off hire by phone or email. You will still be responsible for the safe keeping of all hired plant and equipment until a signed collection/off hire note is received either by one of our drivers at the time of collection or when dropping plant and equipment back to our hire centre.

Responsibility for equipment?
You are responsible for the equipment until returned to us or collected by us.
